  • Buying from us allows you to look at more then one company compare benefits, terms, conditions and premiums.
  • We have done the research and present the best of the plans in a clear concise manner.

Do you charge a fee for quotes?
No we do not. You can get quotes. We will never ask for a fee. The only time you will be asked to make a payment is when you decide to purchase a plan. All premiums are paid directly to the company you have chosen.

Who do I pay Premiums to?
All premiums are paid directly to the insurance.

Why do you need International Health Insurance?
On Page 2 of a US passport:

Health Insurance. Persons considering foreign travel should determine what health insurance coverage if any, they need while traveling outside of the United States…
Most US health insurance plans will not cover you overseas. If you should fall ill your options are limited.
Social Security Medicare doesn't cover hospital or medical services outside the US.
Medical evacuation is costly and payment is usually required in full in advance.
We offer a variety of plans which are structured to fit a variety of needs. Depending on the plans you choose, the following costs could be covered:

  • Emergency Room Visits
  • Hospital Stays
  • Medications

Being uninsured overseas could be financially draining or financial suicide.

Why does a J-1 Student Visa Need Student Insurance?
According to the US State Department Regulations:

Insurance
Program participants and their dependents are required to have medical insurance coverage with the following minimum benefits [22 CFR 62.14].

  • Medical benefits of at least $50,000 per accident or illness
  • Repatriation of remains in the amount of $7,500
  • Expenses associated with the medical evacuation of the exchange visitor to his or her home country in the amount of $10,000
  • A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness.

Sponsors are to require that their participants (and any dependents entering the United States as holders of a J-2 visa) have insurance in effect during the period of time they are in the sponsor's program. An insurance policy secured to meet the benefits requirements must be underwritten by an insurance corporation with an A.M. Best rating of "A-" or above, an Insurance Solvency International, Ltd. (ISI) rating of "A-I" or above, a Standard and Poor's Claims Paying Ability rating of "A-" or above, or a Weiss Research, Inc. rating of B+ or above. Alternatively, the sponsor may ascertain that the participant's policy is backed by the full faith and credit of the government of the exchange visitor's home country. Program regulations also discuss coverage through HMOs and self-insurance of the above requirements by federal, state or local government agencies, state colleges and universities, and public community colleges, if permitted by law. Refer to [22 CFR 62.14] for additional information.

Why Do I Need Student Medical Insurance if I am Not on a J-1 Visa?
If you are studying abroad the insurance you have in your country of citizenship most likely will not cover you in another country.

Why do I need Trip Insurance?
Trip cancellation insurance reimburses you for prepaid, nonrefundable expenses - such as airline tickets - if you are forced to cancel a trip due to an unforeseen emergency.

What does Pre-Existing Condition mean?
The definition of pre-existing condition varies from each company, you would need to check with the carriers for their definitions.

Does Medicare cover international travel?
No, Medicare will only cover you in the US. Your medicare supplement may provide limited coverage for international travel.

I am not a U.S.Citizen am I elgible for international medical or trip insurance?
There are different plans for US Citzens and non-US citzens.

Can I purchase trip insurance if I made my own arrangement for my trip?

Yes, the insurance covers Non-refundable paid travel arrangements.
